RITUAL & EXPERIENCE
A downloadable ttrpg
You are a member of an insular community. You are trying to make do. You live as you have lived, following traditions which are indecipherable to outsiders. Unfortunately, the outsiders have decided to decipher you. Scholars from abroad have arrived in your community to document your culture, doing more damage than they could possibly imagine. They have theories and tape recorders and research aides. They will pin you on a butterfly board, and divide the whole of your world into two broad, faulty categories: RITUAL and EXPERIENCE.
RITUAL & EXPERIENCE is about good people and bad scholarship.
RITUAL & EXPERIENCE is a misguided punch which prints William James's face over and over and over again even though it isn't really about him.
RITUAL & EXPERIENCE is the niche-est dang tee tee are pee gee you ever did saw.
RITUAL & EXPERIENCE is a hack of John Harper's LASERS & FEELINGS, and owes a tremendous amount to the various hacks which have come before -- particularly Ben Roswell's WAR IN THE YEAR 3000, which was a major inspiration.
RITUAL & EXPERIENCE was written in a blur while i researched grad programs and wept softly over the GRE. it may get updated and it may not but, for now, it's neat and It scratches my brain. no promises on it being well-tested, well-edited, or even totally free of spelling errors. i hope you like it. if you have any tips on universities with interesting graduate departments of religious studies, let me know.
