you show up as the sun is getting low. the mall is long and flat and half empty and at one end brightly lit with dancing electric words. BOWLING ALLEY say the citrine letters as above a lime green ball crashes in three neon frames through a trio of hot pink pins.

- what the fuck?

hey dude and welcome to three dudes go bowling. this is a ttrpg i, that is che, made in my free time around having my soul sucked out at my day job. it's dinky and its weird and i hope you like it. it's about hanging out with your dirtbag friends and it's about maybe realizing you don't like your dirtbag friends anymore, and it's about the sudden intrusion of the absurd or surreal into an otherwise mundane night, which is all to say, it's about going bowling.

it's not perfect and it's not polished and i don't really have the resources to hire an editor or get proper layout done or anything, so maybe think of this as, like, the going-to-your-friend's-house-show of ttrpgs. or the dinky-animation-that-plays-at-a-bowling-alley-when-you-get-a-strike of ttrpgs.

yeah. yeah. hey dude, and welcome to three dudes go bowling, the dinky bowling alley animation of ttrpgs. you can buy it for $4, which is approximately the cost of renting a pair of shoes to go bowling for the night. throw me $5 and i'll toss a community copy on officially actually very much sponsored by you, patron of the art of bowling. community copies are for whoever needs em, but there's more on that below.

i did the layout in google docs and i did the art with a free copy of a drawing software i got a couple of years ago. i did the words myself, but with some feedback and help and playtesting from my friends. so shout out to justin (@jmartinwrites) and geo (@LaFilianore) and ro (@WeirdForestMan) for that. and shout out, also, to all the people who make kinda dinky art and send it around to their dirtbag friends.

You know what would be really unnecessary? An online playsheet for this game in the style of vintage bowling scorecards to track your bowlers' scores and write down their names and descriptions.

But uh, whoops, it exists now. Instructions on how to use this sheet are in the top-right corner. (Note that it automatically tallies your total scores, so you only need the one to two boxes for the frames.)

It's the story of [three] (it can be more) [guys] (it can be chicks) who go [bowling] (it can be another activity). In fact, it's just the story of an evening with friends, with the stories we tell each other, the [pins] we knock down as regularly as the glasses of beer, the memories that stir; people who prevent us from being quiet for 5 minutes; and then the rest of the evening, where we confide in each other a little more, before parting, and seeing you next Saturday. A nice game in the form of a slice of life.
