Ēala ēarendel,     engla beorhtast,

ofer middangeard     monnum sended,

ond sōðfæsta     sunnan lēoma,

of sylfum þē     symle inlihtes!

For aeons he has ruled us, tyrant-king and eternal god. He dictates our logics, our patterns, our ways. Down into the scorching void we were led, and we were ruined by endless heat and infinite, all-seeing light. That was the reward of our service. 

When the moon (who the Kingpriest of the Sun-on-Earth said was consort and beloved to our Daystar) cracked from the heat and split wide, spilling rot down into our lower heavens, we knew we were betrayed. But by then it was too late for too many.

Today, we are avenged. Today — you kill God.

SUNKILLER is a solo, card-based ttrpg about the last survivor of a scorched earth piloting a ship through the Lower Heavens and Outer Void to reach and kill THE SUN, an ancient and terrible god. To do so we must rise through the upper atmosphere, cross the deep waters, and finally survive the great sea of stars to reach our divine — and kill it.

it was written for the reliquary jam, s1e12, on the theme of sunrise, sunset.

it is broadly inspired by the genre of sludgepunk, particularly the sludgepunk manifesto.
